Biohazard Cleanup and Restoration

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has identified high-touch surfaces in our homes, businesses, and institutions as having a high potential for the transmission of disease. The CDC recommends that these surfaces be cleaned regularly. We have worked in conjunction with our corporate offices following the CDCs Recommendations for Environmental Cleaning and Disinfection to develop a protocol to help reduce the risk of spreading the virus.

In order to provide this needed service economically to the community, the protocol has been categorized according to the risk level of infection spreading at each particular location. In facilities where there has been no exposure to anyone suspected or known to be infected with the virus, an EPA-registered disinfectant is applied to all surfaces often by using an ultra-low volume fogger. In these situations, depending on the product being applied, lesser or no PPE may be necessary. In facilities that have been exposed to someone suspected or known to be infected with the virus, the protocol will usually specify the removal of soils from the surfaces by wiping or otherwise cleaning, and then an EPA-registered disinfectant is applied. Higher levels of PPE will be worn by the technicians for this procedure, which may include an impermeable suit and gloves, an appropriately rated mask, etc.

Our production manager will meet with the owner or manager of the facility in advance to discuss the needs of the particular facility, and determine the level of cleaning needed.

Common Biohazard Scenarios

Sewage Backups

Sewage backups and dark water intrusions are more than nasty, smelly deposits – these damages also introduce harmful microorganisms into a structure. We remove the sewage, contaminants, and moisture, and help ensure the structure is properly cleaned, disinfected, and deodorized.

Bloodborne Pathogens

We remove and dispose of bodily fluids, tissue and other potentially pathogenic substances resulting from accident, trauma, crime or death. Trained SERVPRO of Marysville / Arlington Professionals clean, disinfect and deodorize the structure.

Illegal Drug Manufacturing Labs / Meth Labs

SERVPRO realizes many of the chemicals used in the production of illegal drugs such as "meth" are volatile and can leave harmful residues throughout a structure. We follow federal and state guidelines to properly clean all surfaces.
